SCHRUNS THE RESORT

Schruns is probably the most authentic and Austrian of all the ski holiday resorts in Montafon. It is about the biggest, has a train connection and station linking to the national network and has a good deal of locals living there. Schruns is in fact a working and living town or large village as well as being a ski holiday resort and for that reason it has numerous services that the other ski holiday resorts in Montafon lack. One of the better aspects of Schruns is the nightlife. Après ski is famous in Montafon but it tends to stop soon after dark and many resorts are then pretty quiet. Schruns has après ski at the base station of the lifts but the fact that Schruns is a locals village as well as a ski holiday resort ensures more goes on until later.

SCHRUNS RESORT INFORMATION

Accessing the lifts in Schruns is less easy than some of the other ski holiday resorts in Montafon. The lifts leave from opposite sides of Schruns and are located on the edge of the village. Ski pistes run back down into Schruns but from much of the accommodation and most areas of Schruns, then a car or ski bus is required to reach or leave the ski facilities. Accessing other ski holiday areas within Montafon is pretty straightforward from Schruns, with the Golm area just across the valley and Silvretta Nova and Gargellen not far away either.
