SILBERTAL SKIING

The skiing on offer from the ski holiday resort of Silbertal consists of 2 separate areas. The Kristberg ski area is directly above Silbertal and consists of a small area that is popular with beginners and families. The Kristberg ski area is compact and the terrain very gentle. There is also popular with winter walkers and there are numerous trails cut into the mountain. The second ski area that is accessed from Silbertal is the bigger are far more serious ski area of Hochjoch. The Hochjoch ski area is one of the principal ski areas in Montafon and is also accessed from the ski holiday resort of Schruns. The Hochjoch ski area mainly consists of 2 open bowls that are located above the tree-line, along with the ski runs back down to Silbertal and Schruns.

SILBERTAL SKI INFORMATION

The Hochjoch ski area is one of the biggest in Montafon and has a decent snow record. The skiing best suits beginners and intermediate skiers or snowboarders and for families there is a dedicated kids learning area located at the Kapell lift complex, with a terrace restaurant from which adults can watch the progress of their children. The ski pistes in the bowls tend to be fairly gentle and wide. There are tracks that cut through them, one leading to a ski tunnel which connects one of the bowls with ski area above Silbertal. The run back down to Silbertal from the Hochjoch ski area is a long blue pistes that cuts above Schruns and then makes its way back down to Silbertal.
