Really superb skiing even though it was still October. It was the FIS season opening with a metre of new snow on the Rettenbach and Tiefenbach glaciers.

The season opening party at Solden is something to see, music, ski racing and partying on a grand scale.

Awesome intermediate skiing... long cruisey runs and loads f nice long blues and reds. Blacks are a bit lacking (and short) but otherwise a good fun place to ski.

I was there whilst skirace and one thing I can remember - the slopes were in perfect condition and really well prepared.

The pistes were largely wide so could cope with a lot of skiers and boarders, without feeling to crammed. There were plenty of off piste trails to ski on, which were never far from the main pistes so safety was maximised. The ski lifts were extremely efficient - never had to wait too long in a queue, and, in colder weather many of the chair lifts have bubble hoods which you could pull down if you wanted too!

Marco's was a great apres ski bar, that you could ski down too! Lots of restaurants and bars along the way. Fantastic fun with excellent and very clean facilities.

Loads of choice for type and location of apres ski, though the Euro exchange rate is not favourable to us at the moment, food and drink was reasonably priced.

Solden always seems to have good skiing when everyone else is wondering when the next snow will come. There is a large range of high altitutde and valley skiing throughout the resort. It also has some of the most magnificant mountain views I have ever experienced in my like. I have skied all over the western states of the United States from big resorts to small and I can say that I understand now why people rave about the alps. When you choose Solden, you can't lose.

Solden has a great environment. I've been to a lot of huge resorts and can say that Solden has big resort skiing with a great after ski atmosphere. From the club scene of FIRE & ICE to the pub scene of several favorite spots on the strip Solden is a great place to "work hard" with big slopes for your ski habit, and "play hard" with a town big enough to support a great after ski party for everyone.

Great selection of restaurants, clubs, pubs and hangouts.

We went to Solden in November and there was already fantastic snow. The pistes were often wide, perfectly groomed and great for going fast or trying out some carving - although November was still very quiet so we nearly had all the slopes to ourselves on weekdays - bit busier at the weekend.

Not the most attractive resort because of the road that goes through, but much of the guesthouse accommodation is off this main roads and in beautiful locations

it was very early so still quite, but I could imagine with all the umbrella bars and discos that it could really get going in the high season.

Solden is a mega resort with impressive ski terrain including impressive km’s of ski piste and 2 glaciers.

The centre of Solden is slightly spoilt by the heavy traffic through the resort but all the same, Solden is low-rise and has impressive facilities. Après ski is about as good as it gets anywhere.

Great facilities and some good ski terrain for families but traffic and après ski are the downsides of Solden for families.

The best in Austria and possibly the world.
