SOLDEN SKIING
Solden offers an extensive ski terrain that begins at the village and reaches high up onto the two skiable glaciers above Solden - Rettenbach and Tiefenbach. Above Solden, the ski holiday resort of Hochsolden offers ski-in, ski-out luxury. The Solden ski area is impressively big and has skiing year-round on the glaciers. Much of the skiing is best suited to the intermediate on the glaciers but there is also plenty of off-piste opportunity, especially around the Gaislachkogl. With so many visiting skiers and snowboarders the lift system is extensive and modern. Views from the special platforms on the mountain are superb with the neighbouring Pitztal Glacier and the Wildspitze (the highest mountain in Tirol) all clearly visible.

SOLDEN SKI INFORMATION
The variety of the skiing is one of the most impressive things in Solden. Very often the glacier skiing areas in Austria are somewhat remote and served by base station villages rather than resorts. The fact that the Solden ski area is both a conventional area with varied terrain, as well as snow-sure glacier skiing areas makes a great mix. And unlike France where slope-side accommodation usually comes at a significant cost to the beauty of the area, then Hochsolden and the accommodation located slope-side above Solden offer a great combination of charm and convenience.
