SOLDEN SKI HOLIDAYS

Solden is the mega resort of the Otztal valley and is in many respects the biggest ski holiday resort in Austria. The ski area is extensive, features glaciers and has ski-in, ski-out hotels in the resort of Hochsolden. On top of all that there is après ski that has few serious challengers anywhere. Solden hosts international events such as the opening event of the mens’ FIS race calendar. Accommodation is plentiful both down in the valley, scattered across the mountainside above Solden and in the separate ski holiday resort of Hochsolden. Solden is spread out along the main road and river that runs the length of the valley and whilst the road is often busy, much of the accommodation is set back from here, with bars and entertainment occupying this busy thoroughfare.

SOLDEN SKI HOLIDAY INFO

Solden offers skiing on two separate glaciers, has superb ski-in, ski-out facilities and accommodation located at Hochsolden and numerous ski pistes down in the valley that lead directly back to Solden. The ski area is big, has a modern lift system, enjoys a good snow record and has superb views from the numerous viewing platforms. Apres ski in Solden is huge. Starting on the mountain and continuing in the centre of Solden; apres ski in Solden is about as lively as it gets. There are endless bars offering outdoor umbrella bar drinking as well as numerous bars / hotel bars. Luckily for those not wanting to be part of the apres ski carnival, the action is centred on the busy main road.
