SOLL APRÈS SKI

Après ski in Soll is legendary, it is easily the loudest and most action packed ski holiday resort on the Ski Welt Wilder Kaiser and has some of the best apres ski to be found in Austria. Soll has slope-side bars as well as après ski bars in the village centre. You kind of get the message, a calling to stop for a cold beer when you ski toward a mountain restaurant adorned with a 20 ft tall cooking pot with a witch on a broom stick sailing over it. If your senses had not already indicated the desirability of a cold beer in the afternoon sun, then surely the legitimising nature of the sight of a witch is sufficient. Well to many it is and the terraces throng with relaxing and celebrating skiers and boarders in the afternoon rays.

SOLL APRÈS SKI INFORMATION

With Soll some few hundred metres below, the ski run back to the resort can be quite a spectacle in late afternoon. Those who do make it down often stop off at one of the slope-side bars around the lift base station in Soll. From there it is a relatively straightforward route back to the village and the apres ski action that takes place around the centre of Soll.

The main bar on the Crossroad (which name escapes me) was a fun place to meet up for the apres ski sessions, with a good choice of Sports on tv or live music a lively backdrop to the Jagermeisters.

Some of the other bars also had live music later and although in our short stay we must have visited every eating/drinking venue there was always something going on somewhere.
