ST ANTON THE RESORT

With great connections by road and rail, stunning scenery, the best skiing in Austria and a pretty village, the draw of St Anton is obvious. St Anton is characterised by the ribbon development that has evolved as the town grows and fits to a very narrow valley. The main street in St Anton is mostly pedestrianised and contains the vast majority of the shops and bars in St Anton. Some of the bigger and more established hotels are also found there. The relocation of St Anton railway station has freed up land that is now given over to new cafes, a large Spa / Wellness complex, the winter outdoor ice rink and some peaceful town walking trails. The new railway station is located next to the river running through the valley with direct trains to Innsbruck.

ST ANTON THE RESORT

Most guests to St Anton request central accommodation although this is in short supply during the peak season. St Anton has grown and now has pretty much merged with neighbouring Nasserein. Nasserein now has its own gondola accessing the heart of the ski area. Much of the accommodation that does not occupy the direct centre of the village has private transport for guests to access the lifts and nightlife. Bars and restaurants are plentiful. Many of the bars cater for the après ski crowd but the atmosphere is slightly different to Solden or Ischgl, with slightly more refined bars and atmosphere although St Anton certainly holds its own for those wanting to party.
