ST GALLENKIRCH THE RESORT

St Gallenkirch is a low rise village set around a traditional church centre. The ski holiday resort is fairly spread out and to an extent merges with the neighbouring resorts of Gortipohl and Gaschurn. A ski piste winds back down into the resort. Above St Gallenkirch is the mountainside hamlet of Garfrescha, which has ski-in, ski-out accommodation and is a wonderful setting. The resort of St Gallenkirch itself has a reasonable range of services but tends to be quiet at night, quieter than comparably sized ski holiday resorts in Austria. Après ski takes place and is good around the base lift station, but as soon as this dies down then St Gallenkirch is very much a sleepy place.

ST GALLENKIRCH RESORT INFO

The lift in St Gallenkirch is located slightly out of the centre in the bottom of the valley, possibly a few hundred metres or so from the heart of the resort. Even so some of the accommodation is located further away and ski buses or cars are required from some of the accommodation.
