ST GALLENKIRCH SKIING

The Silvretta Nova ski region that is accessed from the resort of St Gallenkirch is rated as the best ski region in the Montafon ski area. It has what is claimed is the biggest terrain park in Austria and has an active community there of skiers and boarders. The ski area is ideal for intermediates and there are impressive amount of off-piste terrain for the better skiers and boarders. The Silvretta Nova ski region also has a good number of ski routes as well as superb scenery all round. The majority of the skiing in the Silvretta Nova ski region takes place above the resort of St Gallenkirch but there are options and terrain leading down to the other ski holiday resorts in the area.

ST GALLENKIRCH SKI INFORMATION

Accessing and departing the Silvretta Nova ski region from St Gallenkirch takes 2 separate routes, the steeper and more direct route that the St Gallenkirch lift takes is prohibited for a return route to the resort. Instead those wishing to ski back to St Gallenkirch pass through the Garfrescha area with the option of a descent into the ski holiday resort of Gortipohl. The Silvretta Nova ski area also has an interesting sector at Nova Stoba, an area with some challenging ski routes, easy blues and ski pistes down into Gaschurn. In the region and within easy reach of St Gallenkirch by car or bus is the ski region of Gargellen, a smaller ski area than Silvretta Nova but well worth a day or 2, offering good snow and superb scenery.
