STUBAI GLACIER THE RESORT

The resort at the Stubai Glacier is little more than an extensive car park and the lift station, restaurants, ticket offices and a sole hotel. The hotel is big and it hosts good après ski at the end of the day, but the base station at the Stubai Glacier is not where most who visit the Stubai Glacier actually stay. Instead nearly all visitors to the Stubai Glacier stay in Neustift and the surrounding villages. Neustift offers endless hotels and is a big if well spaced and attractive resort. The resort accesses its own ski area at the Elferlift as well as the nearby Schlick 2000 ski area. Both are good alternatives to the Stubai Glacier but are far smaller.

STUBAI GLACIER RESORT INFORMATION

Facilities in Neustift are good with many hotels offering extensive amenities. Additionally there are numerous shops both serving the ski industry and also the locals and there is a leisure centre that is open to the public, with a swimming pool and saunas etc. There are many restaurants and bars in Neustift and the atmosphere is generally good throughout the season. Further down the Stubai valley from the Stubai Glacier is the university city of Innsbruck, here there are superb transport connections and amenities as well as very many bars and restaurants. There are also further skiing resources located around Innsbruck for those wanting to explore the ski region.

It's a nice small village, which offers some bars and restaurants, but prices are high.
