Stayed in Nuestift - quiet time of season

The Stubai Glacier is a good skiing area - but so far I have just went there in off-season, so it was not that crowded. Slopes are always in good condition.

It's a nice small village, which offers some bars and restaurants, but prices are high.

there is a nice apres ski bar directly at the station, but you have a long way to town afterwards.

Really fun umbrella bar at the bottom!

This glacies is located at the end end of the Stubaital and about 45min away from Innsbruck. It gives the whole Stubaital the backbone of good snow. As there is a ski bus route through the valley you can start in the morning in the Schlick and end you day on the glacier. The "Wilde Grubn" is a cool long. And even backcountry skiers will find some cool runs there.

The friendlyness of the whole service team is remarquable.

Went in mid april and had great snow on the glacier. It was a little warm lower down so the runs off the mountain were closed. None of the pistes are too difficult, but there is a reasonable variety given the size of the ski area. The snow was good, but I didn't venture too far off the piste so the only off piste I tried was by the side of the runs.

We stayed in Neustift, which was immaculate. It was late/off season so the resort was very quiet, but the Hotel Stubaierhof was wonderful.
We didn't try any of the resort facilties apart from the ski bus up to the glacier, which was regular and clean.

The resort was pretty and had a sports centre. Didn't use the ski school so cannot comment on that.

We stayed in Neustift, which was immaculate. It was late/off season so the resort was very quiet. The resort did not seem to be any more expensive than elsewhere.

The Stubai Glacier is a great ski area with mainly intermediate runs. The snow conditions are very good most of the year. In the summer the snow is often quite heavy.

There is a nice apres ski schirm bar at the first hotel when you leave the ski area. There is always some action happening.

Beginners and intermediates will enjoy the wide pistes and great snow cover.

The facilities were fine, but it isn't the most attractive resort we have been to! However, I did love the rugged atmosphere and incredible views!

Not much of a night-life!

The Stubai Glacier base station has little beyond a single large hotel and the ski lift and hire complex and a couple of bars.

There is very little atmosphere at the Stubai Glacier itself for families but the Mickey Maus kids ski club on the glacier is one of the best for kids.

Good while it lasts but most skiers and snowboarders at the Stubai Glacier are there on day visits and leave for their accommodation early on.
