Limited but dedicated beginners ski area in Stuben. Great for intermediates with immediate access into the St Anton ski area. The pinnacle of off-piste skiing in Austria!

STUBEN SKI HOLIDAYS

Stuben is one of the few remaining undiscovered gems in the Alps. The village is immaculate, with a real historic feel, sits on the edge of the best ski area in Austria and beneath some of the best off-piste skiing to be found in the region. For all the visitors who are drawn to the Arlberg ski area above St Anton and St Christoph, few are ever persuaded to venture slightly further to Stuben. The fact that Stuben is possibly the most charming of all the local villages and has one of the best and least stressful ways to access the superb skiing in St Anton is a huge bonus. On top of that Stuben offers a genuine off-piste and the village is a true ski and boarder town. Off-piste guides and heli-skiing brochures are everywhere. Stuben is a wonderful village for serious snow-sports enthusiasts.

STUBEN SKI HOLIDAY INFO

First and foremost Stuben is a serious ski and boarder town. It readily accesses the best in-bounds ski region in Austria and sits beneath some of the best off-piste terrain to be found anywhere. The lift infrastructure in Stuben is limited but it accesses all the right places. Guests in Stuben can be well into the heart of the St Anton ski area whilst guests in St Anton a re still queuing for lifts. The village of Stuben is compact and charming and whilst the main road through the Arlberg runs close by, the village has a real tranquillity about it as it stretches along the river that dissects the buildings. The main lift out of Stuben is close, as are most facilities as Stuben is compact. There are some charming bars and restaurants dotted around the village.

There is skiing directly out of the village with uncrowded pistes, good for intermediates and it goes directly into St Anton area - perfect! I have not done it but I saw loads of offpiste skiing which is supposed to be some of the best around

Really deep snow everywhere! and relatively well pisted slopes - not quite as bumpy as the st anton area as there are not so many people

Although small, I was more wowed by this place than any other resort I have been to. It is just the perfect, tiny, traditional austrian ski resort - probably looks the same as 50 years ago!!

It is no st anton - but there is chiled out apres ski in a couple of bars there and by large fireplaces in the hotels!

Stunning and atmospheric ski holiday resort with great access to the slopes. Very few facilities outside of the resort itself.

Great atmosphere, relaxed, almost car free and good access to the slopes. Nothing really beyond the accommodation in Stuben though.

A surprising number of little bars are tucked away in Stuben.
