VANDANS SKIING

The Golm ski area is accessed from the 3 stage, 8 seater Golm gondola that runs from the edge of Vandans. The ski area in Golm is reasonably compact and better skiers and boarders would easily cover the area in a short time. For those new to snow-sports then there is an ok area to explore and combined with the other ski regions, Golm makes a good ski option for those not expecting The 3 Valleys. There is a token black and some off-piste but the majority of the ski terrain is suited to the intermediate skier or boarder. Views from the Golm ski area, as in much of Montafon are superb, with the dramatic “Drei Turme” peaks a true marvel on the horizon.

Good for intermediates, superb scenery, further local ski areas in addition to Golm

  We don`t like:
Compact area, too small for better skiers and those wanting to clock some km’s

VANDANS SKI INFORMATION

Guests to Montafon have the option of visiting other ski areas and the Montafon ski pass covers 8 separate ski areas. That said, only 4 are really worthy of being considered a ski area. The closest of the credible ski areas is Hochjoch, located just above Schruns and offering a scenic and snow-sure ski area, mainly spread across 2 high altitude bowls. Gargellen slightly further away offers skiing from the highest ski holiday resort in Montafon and has a true wilderness feel in a couple of the peripheral valley pistes, whilst a similar distance away from Vandans is the Silvretta Nova ski area, the biggest and best in Montafon. All areas are bigger than the Golm ski area.

Vandans accesses the Golm ski area directly and is ok for beginners and intermediates, but not great for advanced skiers.
