ZAUCHENSEE APRÈS SKI

Zauchensee has a pretty decent apres ski scene. Umbrella bars dot the fringes of the ski pistes around Zauchensee and there is a good atmosphere after the lifts close. There are a good number of day visitors to Zauchensee during the winter months and this can really swell the numbers in Zauchensee. Before they head down the valley, many are drawn to the soothing sounds of apres ski music, Austrian style. Things do tend to quieten down fairly early and many guests staying in Zauchensee will head back to their hotels for dinner. There are a number of huts and bars dotted around Zauchensee but generally most of the action takes place earlier on.

ZAUCHENSEE APRÈS SKI INFORMATION

In the region then Flachau offers possibly the best apres ski. Located in the valley past the neighbouring ski holiday resort of Altenmarkt, Flachau apres ski and umbrella bars can heave from late afternoon till way into the night. Action often starts on the slopes or at the lift stations in the valley, whilst there are a number of bars in the centre of Flachau that pump out music and drink till late. Altenmarkt is another option for apres ski and whilst there is less ski boot dancing than Flachau, Altenmarkt has a good atmosphere with locals forming a significant part of the evening crowd.

Again, while there is some apres-ski, the emphasis in Zauchensee is very much on the 'during-ski'!
