ZURS THE RESORT

Zurs enjoys a dramatic location and is blessed with a great snow fall record. The big hotels and banked snow can make for an attractive setting. Views each way down the valley are superb. There are some pretty impressive resort features such as ski bridges that cross the main road running through Zurs allowing skiers to access either side of the skiing, which in Zurs is spread across two sides of the valley. On the downside there are few facilities outside of hotels, a big car park on the edge of Zurs and a road running through the centre of the village.

ZURS RESORT INFORMATION

Despite its dramatic location Zurs seems more of a skiing outpost than a traditional Austrian village. The road that runs through the centre taking people to Lech can be busy and the large car park at the edge of the village is pretty unsightly. Hotels are pretty grand in Zurs but the resort really lacks the charm that other Alpine villages in Austria exude. For comfortable luxury, in the midst of one of the top ski areas in Europe then Zurs is hard to beat. But outside of the hotels and away from the ski pistes, Zurs is lacking.

The resort itself has not got the charm of neighbouring Lech, but is still very pretty as it is was completely covered in snow. Most of the facilities are in the hotels, but facilities in Lech are just a short free bus ride away. The atmosphere in the evenings is quiet as the bars and restaurants are very much hotel based.
