ZURS SKI HOLIDAYS

The holiday resort of Zurs is located high in the Arlberg region of Austria on a pass between St Anton and Lech. The excellent snow record of the region as well as the high altitude of Zurs are big advantages, whilst the combined ski area with Lech is both extensive and varied. There are high altitude ski routes down from Zurs into the Zug and the Lech ski area, whilst Lech offers some pretty tree-lined runs around Oberlech. The ski circuit ‘The White Ring’ takes skiers on a ski safari around the peripheries of the entire area. Unfortunately this route can only be done in one direction since the Rufikopf above Lech is only accessible from Lech. Zurs is located in a dramatic valley although the village is unusually lacking in Austrian charm.

ZURS SKI HOLIDAY INFO

The height and location of Zurs in Arlberg ensures it has one of the best snow records in Austria. The village and ski area are bisected by the road leading to Lech and ski bridges allow skiers to cross over the road. The skiing is extensive in Zurs and is connected to the famous Lech ski area. One drawback is that all skiing is above the treeline. The resort of Zurs enjoys a superb location, high in the Arlberg, with dramatic views each way down the valley. Zurs is fairly upmarket and consists mainly of a number of big hotels. Zurs surprisingly lacks the usual Austrian village charm, it has road cutting through the village and a large car park on the edge of Zurs.
