Banff, Canada ski and snowboard holidays.

BANFF SKI HOLIDAYS

The ski holiday region of Banff is made up of 3 sectors with Norquay and Sunshine Village offering the easiest access with Lake Louise slightly further a field but still covered by the same Banff ski pass. Banff is well known for its superb scenery and wildlife and has a good degree of diversity amongst its skiing and snowboarding resources. The chief drawbacks include the commute required from Banff to the ski areas although this is fully justified in protecting a truly dramatic and fragile landscape. Also the cold can be biting in the peak winter but again, in the face of rising world temperatures, Banff is happily landlocked and insulated from these changes for now.

BANFF SKI HOLIDAY INFO

The skiing in Banff is split between Sunshine Valley, Norquay and Lake Louise. Sunshine Valley is an experts paradise both on and off-piste and due to local micro-climates, Sunshine Valley is reckoned to have three times the snow accumulation of its near neighbours. Norquay is a smaller ski area with many tree-lined pistes and is rated as the best family skiing area in the Banff region. Lake Louise is located some 45 minutes transfer from Banff and offers a big and spectacular ski area, with a small resort.

THE GOOD, THE BAD
