LAKE LOUISE SKI HOLIDAYS
Offering the biggest ski area in the Banff region, Lake Louise is some 45 minutes or so transfer from Banff and boasts, big terrain, big snow fall and sensational scenery. Lake Louise is covered by the Banff ski pass allowing the visitor to also ski in Banff Norquay and Banff Sunshine Village. The Lake Louise ski area is rated as the biggest in the Canadian Rockies and has a broad selection of ski terrain. The skiing takes place both below and above the tree-line which can be important in times of bad weather. Après ski is not a big draw in Lake Louise and the atmosphere tends to be relaxed and pretty refined, Banff offers far more entertainment options but is some 45 minutes from the Lake Louise ski lifts.
THE GOOD, THE BAD
We like:
The location of Lake Louise is about as dramatic as it gets
We don`t like:
The dislocation between the Lake Louise accommodation and the Lake Louise skiing is not great but understandable

LAKE LOUISE SKI HOLIDAY INFO
The skiing in Lake Louise covers most abilities and offers skiing in high altitude bowls as well as tree-lined skiing further down the mountain. Lake Louise is generally regarded as offering less advanced terrain than Sunshine Village, whilst Sunshine also boasts its statistical superiority over Lake Louise in terms of snow accumulation. That said Lake Louise offers the biggest ski terrain in the Canadian Rockies and has a good mix for all abilities. One of the slight drawbacks to the ski area is its dislocation from the accommodation at Lake Louise. Given the stunning and fragile environment in and around Lake Louise, this is a small price pay to protect this gem.
