ALPE D’HUEZ FAMILY SKI HOLIDAYS
The impressively large area of green ski pistes just above Alpe d’Huez offers an ideal area for family and beginner skiing. One of the best aspects of this area is the fact that it is exclusively green in classification and offers a good area to explore. The downside is that it is also the most direct route back to Alpe d’Huez from the majority of the ski area and as such becomes something of a motorway for skiers and boarders trying to carry their speed on the flat sections. The great sun record that Alpe d’Huez boasts is another aspect that appeals to families. The skiing is high and snow-sure in Alpe d’Huez but the good sun record helps to moderate the freezing conditions in early season.

ALPE D’HUEZ FAMILY SKI INFORMATION
One downside to the suitability for family and beginners skiing in Alpe d’Huez is the fact that the skiing is entirely above the tree-line. In poor weather the vast tree-less bowl above Alpe d’Huez can offer very little to aid navigation or co-ordination. Alpe d’Huez offers a good deal of facilities and whilst the resort has developed in a slightly unusual pattern, the centre has an ice rink and restaurants that are popular with families.
