AVORIAZ SKI HOLIDAYS

Avoriaz is one of the central resorts in the huge Portes du Soleil ski region in the northern Alps of France. It has one of the better locations of all the Portes du Soleil ski resorts: Avoriaz is the highest resort at 1800m and has access to possibly the best resort in Morzine and some of the most interesting skiing in Chatel. Avoriaz itself had extensive skiing that has possibly the best snow record in the entire Portes du Soleil ski region. The skiing is pretty much all above the tree-line and attracts a good number of visitors from the neighbouring ski resort of Morzine that is connected by lift. The resort of Avoriaz is high, striking and convenient for the skiing but is somewhat soulless and to some a little too futuristic.

The skiing in Avoriaz is some of the best and snow-sure in the entire Portes du Soleil ski area. Avoriaz certainly offers the biggest and highest area and being central it access some of the better other areas on the extensive, yet highly detached Portes du Soleil. Snowboarding is a big draw in Avoriaz and accommodation has great access to the lifts and the slopes.
