Brides les Bains is an authentic town where locals outnumber the tourists; a rarity in the regions ski resorts. That said most of the towns’ locals are connected with the mountains, The 3 Valleys or tourism in general. The town is attractive and there are a number of bars and restaurants that offer a very distinct and regional feel, opposed to the multi-national and homogenous product in the resorts on The 3 Valleys.

For skiers and boarders needing après ski action then Meribel offers one of the better options in the region. There are numerous bars and clubs and whilst the nightlife can be pricey, it is certainly lively. Après ski in Meribel whilst staying in Brides les Bains requires an absurdly early finish and gondola down, an extortionate taxi ride down or a friend who is willing to drive and go through the hell seeing his mate come back from the bar with a demi-pression and an orangina.
