A family ski holiday in Brides les Bains offers a very different appeal compared to other resorts in The 3 Valleys. The town is definitely not a resort and does not have a resort feel. That said it does boast a very French feel to it and in that sense differs greatly from the tourism product that is churned out in Meribel or Courchevel. Brides les Bains is attractive and there are some good and authentic restaurants on offer.

The downside for families on skiing holidays is the fact that the lift out of Brides les Bains requires a walk or transfer from some of the accommodation in the town. Cars in Brides les Bains are handy although the town is fairly compact. The end of day means a lift down as well since there are no ski pistes back to Brides les Bains. The other aspect of the lift is that it accesses Meribel, the busiest area on the hugely popular The 3 Valleys ski circuit. Also, skiing is often above the tree-line which is not ideal in times of poor weather.
