Brides les Bains, France ski and snowboard guide.
BRIDES LES BAINS SKIING
Brides les Bains has a direct lift accessing the vast 3 Valleys ski region. The lift is long and does not arrive in the most optimal part of Meribel but Brides les Bains is still lift linked into the biggest lift linked ski area in France. The 3 Valleys is an intermediate skier or boarder’s paradise. There are endless wide and fairly gentle pistes that spread out over the ranges and given the popularity of the area, the lift system is necessarily efficient and extensive. The skiing is generally high and the snow record of The 3 Valleys is very good. Glacier skiing in Val Thorens is easily reachable in a day from Brides les Bains, as is the ski area above les Menuires.
BRIDES LES BAINS SKI INFORMATION
One of the drawbacks of being lift linked into the Meribel area of The 3 Valleys is that this area is the busiest of the entire region. Skiers and boarders travelling to or from Courchevel have to pass through Meribel and this can create quite a build up of traffic on the Meribel ski pistes. Whilst Brides les Bains is lift linked into The 3 Valleys there are no marked ski pistes or ski routes back down to Brides les Bains. Only occasionally is it possible to ski (off-piste) back down to Brides les Bains. The other option is to download on the lift which closes frustratingly early, or take the road option back down.
