CHATEL FAMILY SKI HOLIDAYS
On the face of it then there are numerous advantages to taking a ski holiday in Chatel. The skiing tends to be exclusively beginner and intermediate terrain. The resort of Chatel is made up of low rise buildings and there is a relaxed atmosphere around the fairly attractive resort. Apres ski tends to be reasonably restrained and much of the accommodation is located away from the main street where most of the evening entertainment takes place. Transfers from Geneva airport are fairly short and if travelling to the resort by car, Chatel is one of the closest resorts to the French ferry ports.

CHATEL FAMILY SKI INFORMATION
The trouble with Chatel for families is the popularity of the car, in many ways because of the reliance upon on it in the drawn out resort. Traffic can be heavy both in the main street of Chatel and the through road. The proximity of Geneva means that many guests from that city arrive by car adding to the traffic. The split areas in Chatel are also inconvenient and require a car or ski bus to access them. Chatel is a pretty enough resort but it certainly suffers from its low rise sprawl and its un-connected ski areas.
