The resorts in Courchevel consist of Courchevel 1850, 1650, 1550 and 1300 / Le Praz. Generalisations as to Courchevel resorts are inaccurate. The resorts offer a huge divergence of facilities and services. At the top of pile (quite literally), Courchevel 1850 offers some of the most exclusive living in the Alps. Restaurants and accommodation prices at the top end can rarely be equalled and Courchevel 1850 carries a very big exclusivity tag. Prices vary within Courchevel 1850 but erring on the side of caution, clear the credit card balance before setting foot in Courchevel 1850. Courchevel 1850 is also the resort that best reflects the aspirations of the combined resort; it is exclusive and offers a high level of service and product.

COURCHEVEL RESORT INFORMATION

Courchevel 1650 offers similar access to the slopes but at more manageable prices. Courchevel 1650 has an attractive village centre and is thankfully lacking (for its loyal guests) the Ritz of 1850. Courchevel 1550 is located directly beneath 1850 and offers a good budget base for the ski area at 1850. A ski lift connects the resort with the ski area. The lowest (altitude) resort under the Courchevel name, Le Praz 0r 1300 offers a traditional village, just slightly affected by its Olympic legacy. Still avoiding generalisation; those visitors concerned by the length of transfer between helicopter and accommodation – one word, 1850.

We stayed in 1650 and it met new friends. Not as quaint as 1850. The roads were busy at times with traffic to 1850
