LA PLAGNE SKI HOLIDAYS

The ski holiday destination of La Plagne is in fact a cluster of 11 separate ski holiday resorts: Aime la Plagne, Plagne Villages, Plagne Soleil, Belle Plagne,Plagne Centre, Plagne Bellecôte, Plagne 1800, Montchavin, Les Coches, Montalbert and Champagny en Vanoise. Collectively known as La Plagne the destination offers glacier skiing on Glacier de Bellecote as well as the Paradiski, the massive ski area that La Plagne shares with Les Arcs and Peisey-Vallandry. La Plagne is massively popular and is reckoned to be the most skied destination in Europe. For intermedaiate skiers then La Plagne is an absolute dream. The pistes tend to be gentle, wide and long. The resorts have come in for some ridicule but as there are so many, generalisations are difficult.

LA PLAGNE SKI HOLIDAY INFO

The resorts in La Plagne range from the attractive low rise developments of Plagne Villages, Belle and Soleil to Aime La Plagne. How the connotation with beauty came about from a resort that closely resembles a Star Destroyer in Star Wars remains a mystery. Resorts generally have superb access to the slopes and lifts. The skiing in La Plagne is characterised by wide open, long and gentle ski pistes that are a dream for intermediate skiers. The skiing above La Plagne 1800 tends to be tree-less which can be a problem in poor weather. The La Plagne ski areas spans out and lunching at various resorts in La Plagne is common. The area is massive and connects to Les Arcs.

Great place for the kids as the hotels are on the slopes , you won't need to carry their skis because you ski right to the door.
