LES CARROZ SKI HOLIDAYS

Les Carroz d’Araches is one of the five resorts in the Grand Massif ski region. Its near neighbour Flaine is the most well known of the resorts but Les Carroz d’Araches offers an authentic resort alternative to the concrete experimentation of Flaine. Les Carroz d’Araches is located some way up the road to Flaine as is ideally located for flights into Geneva and is one of the shortest distances from the French ports. The height of Les Carroz d’Araches at 1200m is not great but the region in the lee of Mont Blanc has an excellent snow record. Les Carroz d’Araches is a fair distance from the nearest neighbouring villages but is a charming and authentic farming village that has developed into a ski station. Skiers can readily access the Grand Massif ski area.

THE GOOD, THE BAD

Good  We like:
Charming farming village that accesses the extensive Grand Massif region

Bad  We don`t like:
Not as convenient for the slopes as Flaine

LES CARROZ SKI HOLIDAY INFO

The resort of Les Carroz d’Araches is a welcome relief from the grim centre of Flaine and is similar in character to both Morillon, Samoens and the farming villages of the area. The resort has few of the facilities of the neighbouring resort of Flaine, but what Les Carroz d’Araches has is atmosphere and charm. The skiing above Les Carroz d’Araches is suited to intermediate and beginners skiers and there are some pleasant if not too taxing tree-lined runs. The ski area is part of the Grand Massif region and skiing is possible in Flaine, Samoens, Morillon and Sixt. Skiing in the Grand Massif is best suited to intermediates and beginners.

Good access to the impressive Grand Massif ski region which is excellent for intermediate skiers and boarders. Off-piste skiing Tree skiing is on offer but nothing is too steep. Flaine just down the road or over the mountain offers a better option.
