MERIBEL SKI HOLIDAYS

Meribel is in the big league of French ski holiday resorts. The ski area above Meribel is part of and accesses the 3 Valleys ski region. The resort is low-rise with chalets dominating the accommodation in Meribel and ranging from attractive to staggering. Ski pistes bisect Meribel and offer a fair amount of ski-in, ski-out accommodation. And for those wanting a short transfer from aircraft to accommodation then Meribel has its own altiport. Meribel village has an ok resort height 1400m, whilst the neighbouring satellite village of Mottaret offers a higher alternative at 1700m. Being the most central ski resort in The 3 Valleys has its appeal, but the result is that Meribel sees a good deal of piste traffic, with people entering / leaving the Courchevel area.

MERIBEL SKI HOLIDAY INFO

The skiing above Meribel and in The 3 Valleys is rated amongst the best in the whole of France. For intermediate skiers and boarders there are endless km’s of wide, open pistes. It is easily possible to ski from Meribel to the outer reaches of The 3 Valleys and back in a day. For advanced skiers there is off-piste powder and couloirs on offer. The resort of Meribel is one of the more handsome in France and is possibly the best in The 3 Valleys. Chalets are the norm in Meribel and they are dotted on the forested slopes that run down into the valley. Some accommodation is slope-side whilst other requires ski bus transfers. Meribel has great nightlife.
