Sainte Foy has beautiful charm, all the buildings are kept to the local stone, wood and slate style giving the resort a boutique feel. There are no ugly high risers here! There are a limited supply of restaurants, however we went self catered and brought grocieries in Bourg St Maurice before heading into the resort. The supermarket in resort had good stores for topping up where needed. We stayed with Premiere Neige and found the price to be excellent and very competitive with other resorts and with other companies within resort. The property was comfortable and spacious and they didn't cram us in like some self catered properties do - no sleeping on the couch, unless you wanted too!

SAINTE FOY THE RESORT

Sainte Foy en Tarentaise has wonderful character and authentic regional architecture. It is a small village, serving an equally small ski area and there are very few amenities for the visitor on a ski holiday. For many who visit Sainte Foy, these are the precise reasons they like it so much and return. Bonconseil is the most convenient location to stay and has accommodation close to the lifts and ski pistes.

THE GOOD, THE BAD

Good  We like:
Charming resort with authentic buildings

Bad  We don`t like:
Development is afoot and buildings are springing up

SAINTE FOY RESORT INFORMATION

The ski holiday resort of Sainte Foy en Tarentaise is a traditional village in a region where most mountain resorts are either purpose built or have swallowed up the incumbents to an extent that few signs remain of the original development. In that sense Sainte Foy is a rare and welcome example. The resort boasts a small ski area, which in part has kept away the masses, but equally with limited accommodation and facilities the resort has done much to keep its character and size. Things are changing though and Sainte Foy en Tarentaise is becoming more well known as a regional off-piste centre which rather tends to negate the fact that the ski pistes are of a very limited extent.
