Saint Sorlin d'Arves is one of the cluster of resorts that make up the Les Sybelles ski area, with impressive terrain statistics that do the ski area a great service. The lifts and some of the villages produce a disservice of equal magnitude however. The Les Sybelles ski area has long been derided because its extensive ski area is connected by a pretty poor lift infrastructure. Additionally, the resorts in the Les Sybelles ski area are blighted by the usual stock of poor French alpine architecture. All that said, Saint Sorlin d'Arves offers a charming, authentic and atmospheric village resort. On top of that, Saint Sorlin d'Arves offers possibly the best on-slope infrastructure of the Les Sybelles ski area, whilst the Saint Sorlin d'Arves area is the biggest in Les Sybelles.

The skiing in the Les Sybelles area is extensive whilst Saint Sorlin d'Arves offers the biggest single area in the ski region. Beginners and intermediates rule; advanced skiers / boarders can forget it. Saint Sorlin d'Arves is a really charming, traditional village that is in stark contrats to other ski holiday resorts in the Les Sybelles area. The resort is an authentic working village with original buildings. Families have a great ski area to access, with a number of green slopes just above Saint Sorlin d'Arves. The village is authentic but Saint Sorlin d'Arves is stretched out and not always convenient.
