TIGNES THE RESORT
Starting from a perspective of the Tignes glass of vin chaud being half full, the resort offers outstanding convenience. Tignes is made up of three principal zones around Tignes le Lac, Le Lavachet and Val-Claret. All are located above 2100m and offer exceptional snow conditions. Access to and from the lifts and slopes is impressive from nearly all accommodation and amenities have are distributed with convenience in mind rather than in an effort to create atmosphere. Wood and stone materials are appearing more and more and new developments area far cry from the originals. OK, being less positive and from a half-empty outlook, it takes a stay in Les Menuires to see anything positive about the original developments in Tignes.
THE GOOD, THE BAD

TIGNES RESORT INFORMATION
Whilst Les Menuires has the feel of a 1970’s city centre polytechnic campus and Aime La Plagne mimics a (Star Wars) Imperial Star Destroyer, Tignes evokes memories of a regional television building. To award any of these resorts the distinction of most unsightly French Alpine development, would be to truly underestimate the blight on the local alpine beauty that the runners up had achieved. In short, for those wanting a ski holiday in a charming and attractive resort, then look beyond Tignes.
