TIGNES SKI HOLIDAYS
Ski holidays in Tignes are a series of contrasts. The skiing in Tignes is highly impressive with big terrain, dramatic scenery and an enviable snow record. Skiing is possible on the snow-sure Le Grande Motte Glacier as well as the neighbouring ski holidays resorts of La Daille and Val d'Isere. So far so good; a big ski area that includes one of the best ski holiday resorts in France, Val d'Isere. The real downside and shame of Tignes is the holiday resort which is famously out of place, many would argue awful. Heavy investment is underway to right the wrongs of an architects’ experimentation, tacit acknowledgement by the local authorities that Tignes the holiday village rather lets down Tignes the ski area.

TIGNES SKI HOLIDAY INFO
The skiing is on a vast scale and there is terrain to suit all levels. It is intermediate skiers who will get most from the skiing in Tignes with long, wide ski pistes that have a great snow record. The original devastation started in the 1950’s and whilst the most recent additions have been less offensive, Tignes is an astonishingly misplaced experiment that is amongst the worst in the Alps. Tignes boasts over 50 bars and several discos. Whilst the après ski in Tignes lacks someway behind the neighbouring Val d'Isere, bars are lively with all the charm of a city centre Students Union.
