VAL CENIS SKI HOLIDAYS
Val Cenis is mde up of two seperate resorts - Val Cenis Lanslebourg and Val Cenis Lanslevillard. The resorts are located in the Maurienne valley and the region boasts a good sun record. With a top height of 2800m and north facing slopes, the ski area above Val Cenis Lanslebourg and Val Cenis Lanslevillard has a fairly decent snow record. The combined ski area is small by French linked ski area standards at 80km but there is a pretty decent mix of piste classification. From the resorts of Val Cenis Lanslebourg and Val Cenis Lanslevillard to about 2100m, there are forests that line the ski pistes, creating attractive and scenic runs, as well as a refuge for when the poor weather sets in.
VAL CENIS SKI HOLIDAY INFO
Easy green pistes tend to be located just above Val Cenis Lanslebourg and Val Cenis Lanslevillard, whilst blue and red classified pistes are higher up. The black ski pistes are found in the highest area. Val Cenis Lanslebourg is the less charming of the 2, whilst Val Cenis Lanslevillard has a pretty, authentic village that boasts a leisure centre and an ice rink. The villages are not overly endowed with facilities for families although Val Cenis Lanslevillard has a leisure centre and skating. The tree-lined and easy skiing is a bonus for families.
THE GOOD, THE BAD
We like:
Relaxed and moderate sized ski area, good stratification of ski piste classifications
We don`t like:
Quiet villages with little close by
