VAL D’ISERE FAMILY SKI HOLIDAYS
Val d’Isere is a mega resort. it is one of the biggest and most well equipped resorts in France. The skiing for kids and beginners takes place in the centre of the resort and there are numerous terraces from which parents can watch their kids. For families wanting to explore a big intermediate area then once again Val d’Isere scores highly. The ski pistes are wide and flat behind Solaise and Bellevarde and ideal for intermediate cruising. In the resort of Val d’Isere, the pedestrianised centre is ideal for families and the resort has just about every facility that is offered in ski holiday resorts anywhere.
THE GOOD, THE BAD
We like:
Great central learners area, gentle skiing in main ski areas.
We don`t like:
Runs back to the village can be like battlefields

VAL D’ISERE FAMILY SKI INFORMATION
Whilst Val d’Isere scores highly on a number of family ski holiday fronts, there are certainly better ski holiday destinations in France. The resort is spread out meaning that either a walk or ski bus is often required from much of the accommodation. The skiing pretty much all takes place above the tree-line which is not ideal for parents wanting to keep their kids when the bad weather sets in. Val d’Isere has a quiet pedestrianised centre but the resort does have heavy traffic elsewhere due to the massive popularity of the place and the subsequent visitors to Val d’Isere. And whilst the ski runs in the main area might be a good gradient for beginner skiers, the runs back to the village are steeper, crowded and can get very cut up later in the day.

Did not seem particularly well suited for children though in general.
