VAL D’ISERE SKIING

With 300km of ski pistes in the combined Espace Killy ski region, 90 lifts, glacier skiing and ski runs that are a legacy of its Olympic past, Val d’Isere offers outstanding skiing and snowboarding. Beginners can start from the village centre where the childrens’ learning and ski schools are located. Above Val d’Isere are the ski areas around Bellevarde and Solaise. The skiing back toward Val d’Isere from these peaks offers some challenging skiing, whilst behind them there are endless km’s of intermediate cruisers. The main Val d’Isere terrain park is located above La Daille. Off-piste skiing is legendary in Val d’Isere and with the glaciers of Pissaillas and Grande Motte, snow is assured. They are not the easiest runs back to Val d’Isere so beginners should choose their run carefully.

VAL D’ISERE SKI INFORMATION

In addition to the famous off-piste and the notable steeps of the runs back down into Val d’Isere, the ski area offers vats terrain for the intermediate skier or boarder. The runs in Val d’Isere are almost above the tree-line which is not ideal when the weather closes in. the runs behind Bellevarde and Solaise offer wide open flat pistes that are usually immaculately pisted. The ski area in Tignes is easily explored from Val d’Isere.
