VAL THORENS SKI HOLIDAYS
Val Thorens is the highest and the most snow-sure resort in The 3 Valleys ski region. It accesses some of the best snow and offers glacier skiing. The season in Val Thorens is traditionally one of the longest in the French Alps. There is a reasonably direct route into the Meribel ski area and beyond that in The 3 Valleys, the Courchevel ski area. The Val Thorens ski area alone boasts an impressive 170km of ski pistes and the resort offers great access to the slopes and the lifts. Despite all these positives, the skiing is classified 80% blue and red pistes and all of it is above the tree-line. The village is dull in good weather and less welcoming in poor weather. The location of Val Thorens can also seem like the edge of the world and is located at the very end of the very long Belleville valley.

VAL THORENS SKI HOLIDAY INFO
The skiing in Val Thorens is extensive, is linked to The 3 Valleys and has one of the best snow records in the Alps. There is glacier skiing on offer and the accommodation in Val Thorens has superb access to the slopes and the ski lifts. However advanced ski pistes are limited and since the skiing all takes place above the tree-line, in poor weather the conditions can be treacherous. Val Thorens has excellent access to the ski slopes and ski pistes. Accommodation is intersected by ski routes that give good access to and from the slopes. At 2300m Val Thorens in usually snow-bound throughout the entire winter which dulls a couple of the sharp edges of Val Thorens. This is not a pretty or atmospheric village, just high with outstanding snow conditions and access.
