BORMIO SKI HOLIDAYS
Bormio offers both a stylish resort and a ski area that reaches up to a creditable +3000m. The skiing consists of tree-lined skiing lower down the mountain, whilst higher up there are exposed ski pistes. The resort of Bormio is a historic spa town and whilst Bormio is charming and atmospheric, the main lift out of the resort is a fair walk out of the centre. The skiing is ideal for intermediates, good for beginners and poor for experts. Cima Bianca at over 3000m offers the main nucleus of the ski area. The nearby ski holiday resorts of Santa Caterina, Le Motte and Isolaccia are in the vicinity and covered by the area ski pass. There is also summer skiing on offer locally. Bormio attracts many domestic visitors and as such has a very Italian feel to it.
BORMIO SKI HOLIDAY INFO
There are some 44km of ski pistes in Bormio and the neighbouring ski area of Valdidentro, with the vast majority of the terrain classified as intermediate. Advanced skiing and snowboarding terrain is the least abundant. Those looking for challenging terrain need to head off-piste for any real options. With a top height of 3010m, the Cima Bianca frequently offers good snow quality and is the best area to seek out off-piste adventures. Further a field the ski holiday resort of Santa Caterina offers additional ski and snowboard terrain to complement that on offer at Bormio, whilst the locally situated Stelvio Glacier offers snow reliability and summer skiing.
