COURMAYEUR SKI HOLIDAYS

Courmayeur is an attractive village set amongst splendid scenery. Glaciers abound and views onto the Mont Blanc are spectacular. There is a lift link to the Aiguille du Midi, where the famous Vallee Blanche route runs down to the French resort of Chamonix. The skiing in Courmayeur favours the intermediate, although there is a good deal of off-piste terrain as well as heli-skiing. The village of Courmayeur started out as a mountaineering village and there is a rich history of alpinism in Courmayeur. The resort has something of a strung out nature and although the lifts do not leave the centre of the resort, they are convenient for some areas of Courmayeur. Beginner slopes are located on the edge of Courmayeur.

The skiing in Courmayeur has great scenery and its smallish are is best suited to intermediates. The beginners ski area is located across the river from the village of Courmayeur. The neighbouring ski holiday resorts in the Chamonix valley provide an alternative through the tunnel or a run down the famous Vallee Blanche.
