LIVIGNO SKI HOLIDAYS

Livigno is a remote and high ski holiday resort that boasts ‘Duty Free’ status and an excellent snow fall record. With a resort height of 1815m and the skiing reaching some 1000m above that, Livigno offers snow-sure skiing. The terrain best suits intermediates but there are extensive nursery slopes along the edge of Livigno, although experts will need to go off-piste to remain entertained. Livigno is one of the toughest transfers from regional airports in the entire Alps but in many ways this adds to the appeal, with the resort remaining something of a secret spot until recently. That is now changing and package operators are bringing skiers and boarders into this once internationally unknown resort.

LIVIGNO SKI HOLIDAY INFO

The skiing in Livigno is snow-sure and there are excellent nursery slopes along the edge of the village. There is little for advanced skiers and the lack of tree cover is not ideal in poor weather. The resort is ‘Duty Free’ and has a reputation for offering good value for money. The resort is long and narrow and is a good walk end to end, although the nursery slopes are ideally placed. For families the beginners’ areas are ideally located and extensive, although the lack of trees on the mountain makes it less appealing in poor weather. Transfer times to Livigno are horrendous.

livigno is one of my favourite resorts and i have been to loads. there is a new airport now called brescia which is only 3 hours transfers and they do stop half way for a coffee break.
It is a good all rounder resort and fabulous for families that want to watch their youngsters on the abundance of small slopes on the carousel side of the mountain.
I am an intermediate/expert skier and i never get bored of this resort, in march that will be my 3rd time there and i still havent done all the slopes there yet as you get your favourites that you can redo over and over as they are all fun but challenging.
dont listen to what the others say if it is bad, because it just isnt true. i sell ski holidays for a living so as you can imagine i have been to several resorts and the only thing that I can say bad about livigno is that to go from the carousel side to the mottolino side you have to get the bus or walk across and you are wasting valuable ski time!!!!! although it only takes 10-15 mins. lol.
try it , you will love it.

cheap, cheap, cheap. we only ever take about £75 each spending money because we go half board and that is more than enough. if you like apres ski though, you will need to take a bit more but certainly no more than £150 each marco gallis bar a must for everyone.
