It was a great resort. I had been before with my father when i was a teenager, and it has changed a lot since then. Fantastic resort for an intermediate/advanced. There is a good choice of mountain resteraunts available. For snowboarders/inexperienced skiers, there are a lot of drag lifts! It is well conected with the surrounding resorts which made for great day trips. There was a fantastic torchlight decent on the Thursday evening wich was a fantastic experience.

SAUZE D'OULX SKI HOLIDAYS

Sauze d'Oulx is part of the Milky Way ski area and boasts 400km of ski pistes is this combined area, with skiing possible on the French side of the border at Montgenevre. The resort is famous for its après ski and whilst Sauze d'Oulx has lost some of its excess over the years, it is still easy to start the following day late and with a headache. The skiing is Sauze d'Oulx greatly favours the intermediate. Sauze d'Oulx is ideally located for flights into Turin and the region boasts a number of famous Italian resorts. As the excess of Sauze d'Oulx après ski has subsided over the years along with the modernisation of facilities for some Olympic events, Sauze d'Oulx has enjoyed a better reputation. Old lifts and scattered ski areas are still the downside of Sauze d'Oulx.

THE GOOD, THE BAD

Good  We like:
Part of the vast Milky Way ski region. Part of après ski folklore

Bad  We don`t like:

SAUZE D'OULX SKI HOLIDAY INFO

The Milky Way ski area that Sauze d'Oulx is part of is extensive and links into France. Intermediates and beginners are ideally suited to the terrain but the ski areas are spread quite widely. Après ski might have become slightly calmer over the years but it is still one of the liveliest après ski scenes in Italy. If pints, pool and premiership are required then Sauze d'Oulx après ski delivers. The resort of Sauze d'Oulx is a blend of old and new; the centre featuring an old church and cobbles, pedestrianised area that gives way to zones of functional accommodation.

The walk to my hotel from the bus on the first day was a bit long and steep, however, the resort itself is compact and the old part of towns is lovely.

I went ther by myself, but I went at the same time as two families that I knew, and they had a great time. Their children skiied with us, so I don;t know about ski school and so on, but the facilities for the kids were great!

Plenty to do in the evenings, and plenty of places to go. Plenty of bars at the bottom of the pistes for a drink after a hard day's skiing.
