SELVA GARDENA SKI HOLIDAYS
Selva is the ski holiday resort in the Gardena Valley, in the Dolomites of northern Italy. Selva Gardena is often referred to as Val Gardena and has been the host of many FIS downhill races over the years. Selva Gardena enjoys scenery that really is about as good as it gets for a ski holiday resort. Part of the Val Gardena, Selva Gardena neighbours Ortisei and Santa Cristina which together from the main ski holiday resorts of the Val Gardena Valley. The ski region is also part of the larger Dolmomiti Super Ski region that includes some 1200km of ski pistes. Selva Gardena is an authentic and reasonably charming ski holiday resort set amongst splendid scenery although traffic can be heavy through the centre of Selva Gardena.

The skiing around Selva Gardena amounts to some 175km and with 60% of this classified red and 30% blue, it is easy to see that this is very much an intermediates ski area. The skiing around Selva Gardena reaches both sides of the valley and lifts leaving Selva Gardena access either area. Also locally, the Seceda ski area is just outside of Selva Gardena and requires a bus transfer. The local skiing varies between wooded ski pistes and open bowls and is ideal for those looking do complete ski safaris, including the Sella Ronda Ski Circuit that circles the Gruppo Sella mountain range. Conditions permitting, the Sella Ronda Ski Circuit is possible for most intermediates and up and takes in several regional ski holiday resorts including Arabba.
