DAVOS SKI HOLIDAYS
Sharing an impressively big ski region with the neighbouring ski holiday resort of Klosters and classified a Swiss municipality, Davos has extensive facilities and excellent skiing. Davos is made up of Davos Platz and Davos Dorf, with the skiing taking place on both sides of the valley. Despite the location and long association with skiing, Davos is closer to a city than a ski holiday resort; Klosters just down the valley fits the ski holiday resort role. From Davos Dorf the ski lifts access Parsenn sector via a funicular that runs from central Davos Dorf. From Davos Platz the easiest skiing to access is the Jakobshorn area. The skiing in the Davos ski region is ideal for intermediates although there is a good deal of more challenging skiing on offer as well.
DAVOS SKI HOLIDAY INFO
The North side of the valley features the Jakobshorn, Pischa and Rinerhorn ski sectors whilst the south side of the valley hosts the Parsenn, Schatzalp and Madrisa ski areas and is the location of the ski holiday resort of Klosters. The main issue for beginners to Davos is their location, the beginner areas are spread across the valley and this can involve some commutes across Davos. Intermediate skiing in Davos is superb, with close to half of the more than 300km of ski pistes classified as red. Advanced and expert skiing makes up just over a third of the ski terrain in Davos and there is additionally some impressive off-piste skiing available.
THE GOOD, THE BAD
We like:
Big ski area that is perfect for intermediates and very good for experts
We don`t like:
