ENGELBERG SKI HOLIDAYS

Offering one of the biggest ‘verticals’ in the Alps, Engelberg has on-piste skiing and snowboarding that is dominated by intermediate and beginner terrain, whilst the off-piste terrain is excellent. Engelberg is easily accessed from Zurich and is a popular weekend and long weekend ski holiday resort. The ski holiday resort of Engelberg is dominated by towering peaks, with Mount Titlis rising way above Engelberg. Beneath Titlis, glacier skiing is offered to ensure snow reliability and quality.

Skiing and snowboarding takes place on both sides of the valley in which Engelberg is located. Ski lifts access these two separate areas from opposite edges of Engelberg. The biggest and most dramatic ski area in Engelberg is located beneath Mount Titlis, with the high point of the ski area at Klein Titlis. A multi-stage lift accesses this ski area. The first stage of the lift reaches a beginners ski area, whilst the last stage offers incredible views as it crosses glaciers beneath the Titlis summit. The skiing is rather fragmented due to the severe and spectacular glacial terrain. On slope intermediate skiing dominates although the off-piste is superb for better skiers. The Schonegg ski area across the valley is compact and offers gentle skiing.
