ZERMATT FAMILY SKI HOLIDAYS

The resort village of Zermatt is supremely atmospheric and but for the drunken après skiers that spill into the street late at night, the atmosphere is ideal for families. The pedestrianised resort is a big plus and but for the electric ski buses and taxis, the only traffic concerns are the horse drawn carriages. Hotels in Zermatt tend to be impressive with good facilities, whilst the skiing higher up in the Zermatt ski region is gentle and ideal for families and kids.

ZERMATT FAMILY SKI INFORMATION

The distance between much of the accommodation and the ski areas almost always means either a ski bus, electric taxi cart or walk is required - not ideal options to motivate the kids. The lower slopes above Zermatt are not ideal for kids and those new to snow-sports, the runs can get cut up and the tracks back down to Zermatt can be very narrow. Downloading is possible however, whilst the skiing higher up in the Zermatt ski area is ideal for families and kids.
