Copper Mountain, USA ski and snowboard holidays.

COPPER MOUNTAIN SKI HOLIDAYS

Higher than even Breckenridge, Copper Mountain, located at 2955m is higher than almost all ski areas in the world, let alone their ski holiday resorts. With a makeover from the ski holiday resort giant Intrawest (owners of Whistler) the centre of Copper Mountain has been redeveloped in a more sympathetic style, whilst keeping convenient access to the slopes. The skiing at Copper Mountain is spread across two sectors, those of Copper Peak and Union Peak. The skiing is mostly tree-lined although higher up the bowls are open. The Copper Mountain ski area is not huge by American standards but offers a fairly decent mix of terrain and a good snow record due to the height of the ski area.

COPPER MOUNTAIN SKI HOLIDAY INFO

The skiing in Copper Mountain is split between Copper Peak and Union Peak. Ski lifts leave the central area of Copper Mountain Village for each sector making this the most convenient location for accessing all the skiing resources. Copper Mountain ski holiday resort has two other sections, East Village with a lift accessing Copper Peak and Union Creek that has a lift accessing Union Peak. From both East Village and Copper Creek it is necessary to ski back into Copper Mountain Village to access the skiing areas not directly above the resort sectors or to transfer across the valley floor. The skiing above Union Creek is the best for beginners whilst the Spaulding and Union bowls offer the most for the better skiers and snowboarders.
